BALLET NIGHTS presents unique, compered evenings of classical Ballet, neo-classical & contemporary dance.
“BALLET NIGHTS is inspired by other variety shows that create personal connection, are artist-led and build new audience bases such as The Comedy Store L.A. and Ronnie Scott’s London. Building a new audience for dance in the emerging residential community of East London’s Docklands is part of what makes this show such an exciting prospect, and one on the dance calendar not to be missed!” Jamiel Laurence, Executive Producer
“I am excited to share my own personal journey and the development of my own work with audiences for the first time ever in the UK at the launch of BALLET NIGHTS” Jeffrey Cirio, Principal Dancer English National Ballet
BALLET NIGHTS brings together international main-stage choreographers, performers, and musicians from across the modern dance landscape and presents their work up close and without compromise - hosted by the Lanterns Studio Theatre and set in the heart of London’s Canary Wharf district.
With something on the programme for everyone, BALLET NIGHTS presents the highest quality of Ballet & Contemporary dance, providing a platform for established world-class acts alongside experimental new works from emerging talents.
Be there at the beginning, as BALLET NIGHTS sets out to establish new ways of presenting 21st-century dance to fresh modern audiences - whether a Ballet fan or completely new to the live dance experience.
Ballet Nights aims to become a quarterly taster platform highlighting works from large scale companies, smaller touring groups and independent artists. Each ticket sold directly supports the recovery of the UK dance economy post-pandemic and help build the dance future that audiences want to see.
A handpicked selection of craft beers, wine options and a gin pop-up will be provided at the venue by the new local favourite, The Lockdown Room, London.
PROGRAMME
The exciting programme of confirmed acts includes the exquisite SWAN LAKE Act II Pas De Deux from renowned international choreographer David Dawson, danced by Scottish Ballet Principal Dancers Constance Devernay and Barnaby Rook Bishop.
An exhilarating rendition of Don Quixote Grand Pas will be given by international ballet stars Katja Khaniukova & Francesco Gabriele Frola.
New works from emerging voice Daniel Davidson, Rambert and exciting choreographer Hannah Rudd will feature alongside a virtuosic solo from the winner of English National Ballet Emerging Dancer 2020, Ivana Bueno.

Olivier nominated dancer Luke Ahmet will perform a solo from the late Sir Robert Cohan’s acclaimed 2019 work Communion, described by critics as "having a divine quality which stills the audience and quickens the heart” and “a meticulous work of wondrous clarity”
The evening will be made complete by concert pianist Viktor Erik Emanuel performing a selection of Chopin both solo and collaboratively, with celebrated choreographer & English National Ballet Principal dancer Jeffrey Cirio.
Compering the evening will be Former Scottish Ballet Soloist, Choreographer and Project Manager of the Lanterns Studio Theatre Jamiel Laurence, who will guide new and experienced audiences together through the exciting, carefully curated programme.
