Returning to Glasgow in 2026, Ballet Nights Masterclasses invite the next generation of dancers to experience an unforgettable day of intensive training, artistic development, and creative exploration.

Join the team behind London’s acclaimed Ballet Nights and train alongside an international cohort of guest artists, coaches, and leading professionals from the world of dance. This year’s Glasgow Masterclass features special guest instructors Sea Maeda and Harris Bell, stars of The Royal Ballet, offering students the rare opportunity to learn directly from two of ballet’s most exciting and upcoming artists.

Led by industry experts, the Ballet Nights Intensive brings the energy, excellence, and inspiration of the Ballet Nights stage directly to Scotland. Students will enjoy exclusive access to renowned choreographers, performers, and creatives, gaining invaluable insight into the artistry and discipline behind a professional dance career.

Designed for aspiring dancers aged 9–15+, the Glasgow Masterclass takes place in exceptional facilities and provides a unique opportunity to train, create, and be inspired by some of the brightest talents in ballet today.

Sae Maeda

Japanese dancer Sae Maeda is a First Soloist of The Royal Ballet. She joined The Royal Ballet's Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme from the start of the 2017/18 Season and was promoted to Artist in 2018, to First Artist, 2022, Soloist in 2023 and First Soloist, in 2024.Maeda was born in Yokohama and began dancing aged seven. She trained at Mayumi Kinouchi Ballet School and at The Royal Ballet School on a Prix de Lausanne scholarship.Her repertory with the Company includes Olga (Onegin), Perdita (The Winter's Tale), Ren (MADDADDAM) and roles in Serenade, Symphony in C, Rhapsody, The Dante Project, Asphodel Meadows and Infra. She has created roles in Jessica Lang's Twinkle and Untitled, 2023. Maeda's awards include Critics' Circle National Dance Awards 2023 Emerging Dancer.

Louisa Ross

Originally from Hampshire, Louisa Ross (née Hassell) trained at Parkewood School of Dance, Royal Ballet Associates and Central School of Ballet. After graduating, she joined Scottish Ballet, enjoying an 11-year career performing works by Peter Darrell, Frederick Ashton, Ashley Page, George Balanchine, William Forsythe and Krzysztof Pastor. Since 2014, Louisa has taught at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, becoming Programme Coordinator for BA Modern Ballet in 2021. She also teaches Junior Conservatoire, Scottish Ballet Associates and BBO Scholars, and holds qualifications from the Royal Academy of Dance and RCS, plus Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy since 2017, today enthusiastically.

Harris Bell

Scottish dancer Harris Bell is a Soloist of The Royal Ballet. He joined The Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme from the start of the 2018/19 Season and was promoted to Artist in 2019, First Artist in 2023, and Soloist in 2025.


Growing up in Dollar, Scotland, he started ballet at the age of seven and went on to train at Elmhurst Ballet School and The Royal Ballet School, graduating through the school. His repertory with the Company includes Paris (Romeo and Juliet), Prince Gremin (Onegin), Zeb (MADDADDAM), Antigonus (The Winter's Tale), Spanish dance (Swan Lake, The Nutcracker), Matvei (A Month in the Country) and roles in Anemoi and Like Water for Chocolate. He has created roles in Jessica Lang's Twinkle and Untitled, 2023.

Madeline Squire

Madeline Squire is a creative dance artist, choreographer, and movement director. She was a First Artist dancer with Scottish Ballet for eleven years, as well as a Guest Artist, performing at Lincoln Centre with Scottish Ballet
2026. She was awarded most recently, Artist in Residence, at The University of Edinburgh, Moray House School of Education and Sport. She creates works both with digital dance as well as on stage. 

Her work is influenced from her own experience of neurological recovery and approach to disability. Celebrating and exploring the beauty in uniqueness, with a new perspective of working. She has created work independently and
for Scottish Ballet, United Nations, Nowness, The University of Edinburgh, Royal Opera House (Draft Works), Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, London Vocational Ballet School and more.

By Bus:

Glasgow's extensive bus network serves the city centre with frequent services.

  • There is a bus stop directly on Renfrew Street, right outside the venue.

  • Alternatively, many routes stop near Sauchiehall Street or Hope Street (both a short walk away).

Walking Directions (from Brighton Station):

 

Approx. 10 minutes walk.

  1. Exit Queen Street Station onto George Square

  2. Head north on West Nile Street or North Hanover Street

  3. Continue uphill towards Cowcaddens / Sauchiehall Street

  4. Follow signs for Renfrew Street

  5. The venue is located at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, 100 Renfrew Street, Glasgow G2 3DB

By Train:

Glasgow Queen Street Station – approx. 10-minute walk to the venue.

Glasgow Central Station – approx. 15-minute walk to the venue.

From either station, you can walk directly (see walking directions below), or take a short bus or taxi ride into the city centre.

BALLET NIGHTS UK TOUR 2026

11 MARCH — 3 OCTOBER 2026

In March 2026, we embark on our first-ever UK tour, bringing our acclaimed format to the Opera House Manchester, Theatre Royal Brighton, and Richmond Theatre, followed by our October landing at Darlington Hippodrome.

Audiences will experience a uniquely curated programme spanning classical favourites, modern masterpieces, emerging talent, and brand-new creations that redefine what a dance show can be, with additional venues and dates soon to be announced.
