APPLICATION PROCESS

The Ballet Nights Young Choreographer Programme is designed to identify, mentor, and showcase the next generation of choreographic voices. Through an  application process, finalists will be given the unique opportunity to develop their creative vision under the guidance of Ballet Nights’ acclaimed choreographers.

Application Process:

  • Step 1: Submit the online application form together with:

    • A current CV​

    • A video clip of an original choreographic work (any style, maximum 5 minutes)

  • Step 2: Shortlised applicants will be invited for a one-on-one interview with the Ballet Nights Jury Panel

  • Step 3Selected finalist announced and enrolled in the programme. 

Audition Process:

  • Application Review:

    • Jury panel reviews CVs and submitted choreography clips. 

  • Finalist Interview:

    • Shortlisted applicants invited to a one-on-one online interview with Ballet Nights jury panelist. 

  • Programme Selection:

    • One finalist chosen as the Ballet Nights Young Choreographer.​

Registration Fee:

  • IDR 200,000

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. Choreographers must be between 16-25 years old.

  2. Must either be an Indonesian citizen or working in/attending a full time program in Indonesia.

  3. Applicants should demonstrate creativity, originality, and a strong interest in developing their choreographic voice in ballet or contemporary dance.

MARIA SASCHA KHAN

Ballet Nights Director of Artistic Development & International Ballerina.

Maria Sascha Khan, Ballet Nights Director of Artistic Development SE Asia, will be heading the search for Ballet Nights Young Ambassador! An internationally acclaimed dancer and respected leader in the arts she brings extensive expertise to the selection process. Maria Sascha began her pre-professional ballet journey at prestigious institutions such as the Kirov Academy of Ballet, under the tutelage of Luidmila Morkovina, the Royal Ballet in London, Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and on full scholarship at the Académie de Danse Classique de Princesse Grace, Monte Carlo under the personal mentorship of it’s director Marika Besobrasova, coach to Nureyev and Fonteyn.

Holding a a Masters Degree from Central Saint Martins London, her distinguished career includes internationally renowned companies such as the Staatsballett Berlin, Bayerisches Staatsballett, English National Ballet and Principal Dancer of the Ekaterinburg State Ballet. 

Maria Sascha’s lifelong connection to South East Asia, her work in artistic direction, mentoring, and creating platforms for emerging talent highlights her deep commitment to cultivating excellence and nurturing the next generation of dancers in South East Asia and beyond. Our Young Ambassador will embody Ballet Nights' mission to celebrate dance and cultural exchange on a global stage, a dancer who possesses the skill and passion to captivate audiences in South East Asia and beyond! We can’t wait to see you all shine in the studio!
